    These air fryer pizza rolls are so easy to make. You only need four ingredients to make crispy, flaky vegan pizza rolls oozing with marinara and mozzarella.

    And, because we'll be making these pizza rolls in the air fryer, you'll save yourself all the saturated fat you get in frozen deep fried pizza rolls. Plus, these taste so much better!

    I love to use my air fryer for making breakfast potatoes and roasted veggies like air fryer artichokes.

    But did you know that you can make homemade pizza rolls in your air fryer? You can, and it's easier than it looks! All you need is one sheet of puff pastry, your favorite marinara sauce, vegan mozzarella and a dash of olive oil. And, an air fryer - naturally.

    Ingredients

    • Puff Pastry: All you need is one sheet of puff pastry. And, in case you were wondering puff pastry is one of those useful ingredients that's accidentally vegan.
    • Marinara Sauce: Use your favorite marinara or pizza sauce.
    • Mozzarella Cheese: I'm using Violife vegan mozzarella cheese, but any vegan cheese that you like will do.
    • Olive Oil: We'll be brushing the puff pastry with a bit of olive oil so you're pizza rolls come out extra flaky and crispy.

    How To Make Air Fryer Pizza Rolls

    • If your puff pastry sheets are frozen, remove one sheet from the box and allow it to thaw at room temperature in the package.
    • Remove your puff pastry from the package and place it on a lightly floured surface. Using a knife or a pizza wheel, cut the puff pastry into 6 squares.
    • Take one square and position it with the pointy end facing you (see photo). Put one tablespoon of marinara sauce and one tablespoon of mozzarella cheese just below the center of the square.

    How To Make Pizza Rolls With Puff Pastry

    • Pull the bottom of the square up over the filling. Press it into the puff pastry to seal it.
    • Fold the left side of the puff pastry square into the center. Smooth the edges with your finger to ensure that none of the filling leaks out when you cook them.
    • Repeat on the other side.

    • Roll from the bottom of the pizza roll, pulling the filling towards you as you roll up the pizza roll. Think of it as making an egg roll. Seal the edges with your finger.
    • Transfer the pizza roll to a plate and put it in the fridge while you make the remaining air fryer pizza rolls. As you make each one, transfer it to the fridge to chill until all the pizza rolls are made.
    • Lightly grease the insert in your air fryer and preheat to 350 F (180 C) if your air fryer requires pre heating.
    • Finally, carefully place your vegan pizza rolls into the air fryer, leaving space between each one. Be careful not to place them too close to each other as they'll puff up and stick together. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to air fry them in two batches.
    • Air fry for 15 minutes, carefully flipping them at the halfway mark.
    • Serve with a dish of marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy!

    These homemade pizza rolls are best eaten fresh. But, should you happen to have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat for 2-3 minutes in the air fryer.

    Can you freeze homemade pizza rolls?

    Absolutely! Allow the pizza rolls to cool thoroughly. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and space the pizza rolls out evenly. Freeze on the tray for two hours. Transfer the pizza rolls to a reusable freezer bag or airtight container. Reheat from frozen in the air fryer for 6-8 minutes at 350 F (180 C).

    Do I need to use parchment/baking paper inside the air fryer to cook these pizza rolls?

    No, as long as you grease the insert in your air fryer, they shouldn't stick. You can grease your insert with a cooking oil spray or even with a paper towel and olive oil.
