My San Marzano tomato sauce recipe has been so popular, that I thought my readers might enjoy a quick, fresh roasted tomato recipe. And, this one is divine!

Oven roasted tomatoes take at least an hour to hit that sweet spot spot where they're gently caramelized and the flavor of the tomatoes intensifies. But, the great thing about air fryer tomatoes is that they take less than 10 minutes to cook, and the flavor is just as juicy and sweet.

Top Tip: If you love tomatoes, you've got to try my homemade gluten free tomato soup.

    Reasons You'll Love This Recipe

✅You only need 3 simple ingredients.

✅It takes under 15 minutes to turn out the sweetest, juiciest tomatoes ever!

✅Roasted tomatoes are a great meal prep option. There's so many ways you can use them.

✅Air fryer tomatoes are freezer friendly. Make a double batch, transfer them to freezer bags, and you've got the foundation for a pasta arrabbiata or the perfect filling for your favorite veggie sandwich.

What Kinds Of Tomatoes Are Best For Air Frying?

Any tomato that you can roast in the oven, you can roast in your air fryer. My favorite tomatoes for roasting in the air fryer are cherry tomatoes. You could also use Roma tomatoes, Piccolos, Campari tomatoes or even larger tomatoes.

You can roast cherry tomatoes whole. I personally like to cut them in half; they cook a bit faster that way. If you're using a larger salad tomato, cut it into quarters. Keep a close eye on them as they cook, as the time might vary a bit for larger tomatoes.

    • Olive Oil: This recipe has minimal ingredients, so it's important that the ingredients you use are of the highest quality. Choose a good extra virgin olive oil.
