Working at Aldi has its perks, especially when it comes to knowing which frozen gems are truly worth your money. After countless shifts stocking freezers and bringing home these treats myself, I've got the inside scoop on what's actually delicious. Here are my absolute must-haves from our freezer section that I regularly toss in my own trolley after clocking out.
10. Specially Selected Halloumi Fries

Golden on the outside, gooey on the inside – these are proper game-changers for quick snacks.
They crisp up beautifully in just minutes, making them perfect for impromptu gatherings. The slightly salty, squeaky cheese paired with the crunchy coating is utterly irresistible.
Trust me, you'll want to buy two boxes!
9. Four Seasons Mixed Berries

My morning smoothie savior! These berries are picked at peak ripeness and flash-frozen within hours. The mix of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries tastes properly fresh.
I've compared them with pricier brands, and honestly, you can't tell the difference. Brilliant value for money.
8. Specially Selected Haddock Fillets

Fish fit for a fine dining establishment without the high cost! Cooked from frozen in less than 30 minutes, these chunky haddock fillets are perfectly meaty.
I feel better about my seafood selections since the fish is also supplied properly. For a really British tea, I serve them with peas and mash.
7. Oakhurst Marinated Chicken Drumsticks

Talk about bang for your buck! These pre-marinated drumsticks are a lifesaver when I'm knackered after a long shift.
Pop them in the oven and dinner's sorted. The marinade has just the right balance of spices – not too mild, not too spicy. My flatmates always nick them if I don't hide the box!
6. Gianni's Mochi Ice Cream Balls

An appropriate treat that always makes people look when they see them in my freezer! With a soft, chewy rice dough on the surface and creamy ice cream on the interior, these small treats are reminiscent of Japanese cuisine.
My very favourite flavour is mango. With just two balls, my sweet hunger will be fully satiated. They are little but powerful.
5. Gianni's Mango Sorbet

Summer in a tub, even in dreary February! This sorbet tastes like actual mangoes, not that artificial rubbish you get in some brands. It's intensely fruity and refreshing.
The smooth texture is spot on – no icy bits or weird aftertaste. Perfect for pudding or a cheeky midnight snack when nobody's watching.
4. Four Seasons Riced Cauliflower

Absolute magic for cutting calories without feeling like you're missing out! I was skeptical at first – frozen cauliflower rice sounds properly dull – but it's now a staple in my freezer. It cooks in minutes and takes on whatever flavors you add.
My colleagues laughed when I recommended it, then started buying it themselves!
3. Specially Selected Tomato & Burrata Ravioli

Proper posh pasta that cooks in minutes!
The filling is creamy with little chunks of tomato that burst with flavor. You'd never guess it came from a freezer. Just add a splash of olive oil and crack of black pepper – no fancy sauce needed. I've served this at dinner parties and guests thought I'd gone all out!
2. Season's Choice Garlic Parmesan Roasted Veg

It tastes everything but lazy, making it the perfect lazy side dish! From frozen, this blend of seasoned veggies roasts flawlessly, with crispy edges, delicate centres, and an abundance of flavour.
Just enough richness is added by the parmesan, and the garlic isn't overbearing. Because I go through bags so fast, I've started purchasing two at a time.
1. Street Eats Chicken Gyros Kit

My cost-effective Friday night takeout substitute! Everything is included with this package, including flatbreads, marinated chicken pieces, and even tzatziki sauce. It has a genuine flavour, reminiscent of a Greek trip.
When cooked, the chicken acquires a deliciously scorched flavour. Definitely worth looking for when it's available!
