Some TV characters don’t just eat on screen, they make you feel like you’re right there with them, eyeing their plate and wondering if you should grab a snack too. Whether it’s their love for giant sandwiches, perfectly plated meals, or anything deep-fried and comforting, these characters turned food into a personality trait in the best possible way.

If you’ve ever watched a show and thought, I’d happily join them for dinner, you’re about to meet the TV foodies who made every episode a little tastier.

This article is for entertainment purposes only, and food preferences shown in TV series can vary widely depending on the episodes, writers and characters involved.

    1. Joey Tribbiani – Friends

Pizza, sandwiches, and basically anything edible - Joey never met a meal he didn't love. His famous catchphrase, "Joey doesn't share food!" became iconic because it perfectly captured his passionate relationship with eating.

Whether stealing food from others or ordering two pizzas for himself, his appetite was legendary. Watching him devour a turkey or protect his plate made everyone wish they could enjoy food with that same unfiltered joy and enthusiasm.

    2. Monica Geller – Friends

As a professional chef, Monica transformed every meal into an art form that looked almost too beautiful to eat. Her competitive nature meant she constantly experimented with recipes, creating dishes that ranged from elegant to downright experimental.

From Thanksgiving feasts to casual dinners, she poured her heart into cooking. Her kitchen scenes filled with sizzling pans and perfectly plated creations made viewers hungry and inspired many to try cooking something special themselves.

    3. Lorelai Gilmore – Gilmore Girls

Coffee and junk food fuelled Lorelai's fast-talking, energetic personality throughout every episode. She and her daughter Rory survived on Pop-Tarts, pizza, Chinese takeaway, and endless cups of coffee from Luke's Diner.

Their metabolism-defying diet became a running joke, but it also made viewers crave comfort food. Watching them devour mountains of food whilst chatting at lightning speed created a cosy, relatable atmosphere that celebrated eating without guilt or pretension.

    4. Ron Swanson – Parks And Recreation

Bacon, steak, and breakfast foods defined Ron's straightforward approach to eating. He believed in meat, lots of it, and rejected anything that seemed too fancy or vegetable-heavy.

His deadpan delivery whilst ordering "all the bacon and eggs you have" became legendary. Watching him savour a perfectly cooked steak or construct a massive breakfast made carnivores everywhere nod in approval and immediately crave a hearty, no-nonsense meal themselves.

    5. Cookie Monster – Sesame Street

Blue fur flying and crumbs everywhere - Cookie Monster's chaotic eating style delighted children for decades. His singular focus on biscuits, especially chocolate chip ones, made him instantly recognisable and beloved.

"C is for Cookie" became an anthem for anyone who loves a good treat. His enthusiastic, messy consumption taught kids that enjoying food can be fun, even if it means getting crumbs absolutely everywhere and singing about it afterwards.

    6. Shaggy Rogers – Scooby‑Doo

Mystery-solving took a backseat whenever Shaggy spotted a towering sandwich or a buffet table. His appetite rivalled his cowardly nature, and he'd often choose food over facing monsters.

Those impossibly tall sandwiches stacked with every ingredient imaginable became his trademark. Watching him and Scooby raid kitchens or stumble upon feasts made viewers laugh and simultaneously crave a ridiculously oversized sandwich piled high with everything delicious they could find.

    7. Carmy Berzatto – The Bear

Intense, passionate, and obsessed with culinary perfection, Carmy brought fine dining techniques to a chaotic Chicago sandwich shop. Every dish he created showcased precision, creativity, and respect for ingredients.

Watching him meticulously prepare beef sandwiches or experiment with elevated comfort food made cooking look like both art and therapy. His dedication to flavour and presentation inspired viewers to appreciate good food and perhaps try cooking something more ambitious than usual.

    8. Dev Shah – Master Of None

Dev's foodie adventures took viewers on culinary tours through New York and beyond, exploring everything from pasta-making in Italy to taco trucks in Austin. Food wasn't just sustenance - it was culture, connection, and joy.

His genuine appreciation for different cuisines and cooking techniques made every meal look incredible. Watching him discover new flavours or perfect a recipe inspired viewers to explore restaurants, try new dishes, and appreciate food as an experience worth savouring.

The ultimate food lover, Homer Simpson from The Simpsons takes eating to an art form. With a love for donuts that's as infamous as his humorous antics, Homer makes every episode a mouth-watering spectacle.

His love for food is charmingly relatable, as he navigates life with a donut in hand, epitomizing indulgence.

    10. Leslie Knope – Parks And Recreation

Whether at JJ's Diner or planning Pawnee's future, Leslie’s waffle devotion embodies her passionate spirit. Her culinary preference becomes a symbol of joy and comfort, resonating with fans who share her love for this sweet delight.

In Stranger Things, Eleven's endearing connection with Eggo waffles adds a unique touch to her mysterious character. Her love for these frozen treats is as strong as her telekinetic powers.
