Keri Bevan
This oat milk hot chocolate is so creamy and indulgent. Bittersweet chocolate and barista oat milk make this vegan hot chocolate a festive dairy free drink everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups oat milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 3 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder *optional, but can be omitted for children

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan over low heat, simmer the oat milk, cocoa powder and powdered sugar. Keep the heat low, and don't allow it to come to a boil.
  • Add the bittersweet chocolate and stir until it's melted. *see note 1
  • Serve with vegan marshmallows or vegan whipped cream.

Notes

  1. Only keep the pan on the heat enough to start the chocolate melting.  As soon as it starts melting, remove the pan from the heat and continue stirring until you have a smooth, thick hot chocolate.
