Charlie Bigham Launches £29.95 Gourmet Ready Meals For At-Home Dining

Luxury dining no longer needs a reservation – not if Charlie Bigham has anything to do with it.

The food entrepreneur behind one of Britain’s best-known premium ready-meal brands has unveiled a new £29.95 gourmet range, designed to bring restaurant-quality dishes straight to the dinner table.

With household budgets under pressure and dining out becoming more expensive, many Britons are rethinking how they treat themselves.

Bigham’s new collection – featuring dishes such as venison bourguignon made with wild Scottish venison, duck confit, and salmon wellington with sashimi-grade fish – aims to fill that gap.

The idea was to recreate the atmosphere of a date night or a gastropub meal, only this time enjoyed from the comfort of your own kitchen.

A far better option, if you ask me. As Bigham told The Guardian:

“I can safely say that our food is better than a slightly soggy takeaway pizza and far more nutritious and far better for you.”

The new five-dish selection launches in 70 Waitrose stores this week, with prices reaching triple the cost of his classic fish pie.

Bigham says the meals are made for “weekend occasions” – the sort of nights when a takeaway just won’t do.

For Charlie Bigham, good food has always been about more than convenience – it’s about creating moments that feel special.

His new gourmet range embraces that spirit, allowing people to enjoy fine dining at home without the effort or expense of eating out.

The shift towards staying in and dining well reflects a broader change in how Britons approach food.

More people are looking for ways to bring a restaurant-style experience into their own kitchens, valuing quality ingredients and craftsmanship over quick fixes.

Bigham’s approach seems to be striking a chord. Sales are on the rise, proving that even when money is tight, many still want a taste of comfort and indulgence.

And if that means a beautifully made venison bourguignon on a quiet evening in, it’s hard to argue with the appeal.
