Baking bread for Lughnasadh is cherished tradition. In fact, the Old English interpretation of Lammas is "loaf mass." Baking bread using the first grains of the season is a way to celebrate and give thanks for the abundance of the harvest.
Bringing offerings of coins and cloth to the holy wells is a traditional Lughnasadh ritual. After offerings are presented, the well is circled in the direction of the Sun to gain favor from the Gods.
