There’s something deeply satisfying about pulling a tray of fresh bagels from the kitchen – warm, golden, and smelling irresistible.

But if the idea of kneading dough and waiting for it to rise puts you off, here’s some good news.

Thanks to a clever hack from Irish food blogger Rachel Hornibrook, you can make delicious, chewy bagels with only three simple ingredients – and no proving or oven required.

This article is for general informational purposes only. Cooking times and results may vary depending on your appliance. Photos are for illustrative purposes only.

Forget complicated bread recipes and fancy machines – all you need is self-raising flour, Greek yoghurt, and a pinch of salt.

The yoghurt might sound like an odd choice, but it’s what gives the bagels their signature texture while adding a boost of protein.

Mix everything together until you’ve got a smooth dough, shape into rounds, and poke a hole in the middle.

For a finishing touch, brush each bagel with a little beaten egg and sprinkle on your favourite toppings – sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or even “everything” seasoning if you fancy something bold.

    Quick, Easy, And Fool-Proof

Once shaped, the bagels head straight into the air fryer – no proving, no waiting around.

Cook them at 170°C for about 20 to 25 minutes until they’re puffed up and beautifully golden.

That’s it. You’ve got freshly made bagels in under half an hour – crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cheeky snack.

3 INGREDIENT AIRFRYER BAGELS 🥯✨ High protein & so easy to make - these taste so good. There are just 3 main ingredients in these, self raising flour, salt & greek yoghurt. I’ve added some beaten egg & some everything but the bagel seasoning on top which is optional. Notes below on how to make these in an oven if you don’t have an airfryer. Full recipe below, tag who would love these in the comments. Don’t forget to save the recipe for later 📌 Follow me for more easy & delicious recipes @rachelhornibrook Important Note: you may need 2-4 tablespoon more or less flour depending on how runny the yoghurt is that you are using as it massively depends on this. I would add ¾ of the flour first and check for consistency then add the rest + extra flour if needed. Makes 2 large or 3 smaller bagels Dough 180g self raising flour ¼ teaspoon salt 200g plain greek yoghurt (I used low fat but use whatever you like) Optional: 1 Egg, beaten Everything but the bagel seasoning, seems seeds or poppy seeds Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan or airfryer to 170 degrees Celsius. Combine all the ingredients together until it comes together as a smooth dough. Divide into two and shape into rounds. Poke a hole in the centre with the handle of a spoon or fork and make a bagel shape. Add to a lined baking tin. Bake in the airfryer for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. If baking in the oven they will need 25 minutes. Serve & enjoy! #bagels #highprotein #airfryer #airfryerrecipe #bagelhack #recipehack #3ingredient #easyrecipe

They taste incredible fresh from the fryer with a bit of butter, but they’re also brilliant topped with cream cheese and smoked salmon, or just a drizzle of honey for something sweet.
